IT Department Organises Mumbai Outreach Programme on the New IT Act and Rules, 2025 | Biz Flow Kit
The Income Tax Department, under the guidance of Nirupama Kotru, Chief Commissioner of Income Tax-4, Mumbai, organized an Outreach Programme in Mumbai. To raise awareness of the provisions of the New Income-tax Act 2025 and the Income-tax Rules 2026, the programme was organised.
The programme was hosted by the Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax-5, Mumbai, Monica Khare. Taxpayers from the Hotel and Restaurant Industry, including the President of the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Western India), Jimmy Shaw, had participated in the program.
Senior officers briefed attendees on simplification in language and structure of the New Income-tax Act 2025 and Income-tax Rules 2026. along with educational content accessible to stakeholders.
To ensure a seamless transition to the new Income Tax Act, the department reaffirmed its commitment.
Officials outlined that the New Income-tax Act 2025 is to make tax provisions simpler to understand and enhance compliance by reducing intricacy in legal language and structure.
The Department said that stakeholder engagement programmes are functioning across different sectors to familiarise taxpayers with the upcoming changes and procedural prerequisites under the revised law.

This outreach session motivates industry representatives to share practical concerns and recommendations for the execution of the new norms. Tax authorities mentioned that the same interactions shall support assuring effective coordination between taxpayers and the Department while easing a seamless adaptation to the new Income-tax Rules 2026.
