Andhra Pradesh CM Directs Tax Officials to Use AI in GST Scrutiny | Biz Flow Kit
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ordered all revenue-generating departments to strengthen measures to boost the state’s own revenue while simultaneously pursuing pending funds from the Centre.
Analysing the performance of departments at the Secretariat, he outlined that Andhra Pradesh should convert growing investments into higher tax revenues and sustainable economic growth.
As per officials, State Own Revenue (SOR) has surged from Rs 1,04,345 crore in 2024-25 to Rs 1,10,643 crore in 2025-26, marking a 6% growth.
Major contributions comprise Rs 33,679 crore from GST, Rs 10,300 crore from Mines, and Rs 11,047 crore from Stamps and Registrations. For 2026–27, the government has set a target of Rs 1,27,506 crore, with nearly 38% growth already recorded in the first 42 days of the fiscal year.

Naidu directs departments such as Mines, Excise, Stamps & Registrations, Commercial Taxes, and Transport to function at full capacity, prevent leakages, and ensure every rupee is used appropriately.
He said that solving land disputes, especially the Section 22A properties, can surge registration revenues. “As investments increase, tax revenues must rise proportionately,” he added.
The Chief Minister emphasised that designating districts as growth centres and fostering unit-level expansion would accelerate the achievement of statewide goals. He encouraged departments to implement novel systems, accelerate business operations, and utilise technology to combat tax evasion and discrepancies.
Naidu, stressing the role of Artificial Intelligence, asked the officials to execute the AI-driven GST scrutiny, strengthen analytics, and use technology to determine leakages without harassing taxpayers. He said that awareness campaigns should be implemented to motivate compliance and transparency in collections.
The Chief Minister emphasised the importance of adding value to mineral and red sanders exports for increased revenue, alongside reforms in professional tax collection, streamlining municipal taxes, and expediting vehicle registrations to within a 24-hour timeframe.
He highlighted the need for greater utilisation of GIS mapping, drone surveys, and satellite imagery in spotting unlawful constructions and refining property tax assessments.
Naidu motivated the youth to engage in MSMEs and financial services, noting that financially aware citizens shall drive future economic activity. “With innovative policies and effective use of technology, Andhra Pradesh can achieve 30 per cent revenue growth this year,” he claimed.
Chief Secretary Sai Prasad and senior officials from Finance, Transport, Excise, Mines, Stamps & Registrations, Commercial Taxes, Forest, and Municipal Administration departments attended the review meeting.
